Day 1: Sat. June 2, 2018

Departure City/Palmyra

We depart this morning for Rochester, NY. Upon arrival we will drive to our hotel in Palmyra, NY. We will get   acquainted over dinner as we look forward to the trip ahead. Accommodations: The Palmyra Inn.

Day 2: Sun. June 3, 2018

Palmyra

Following Sacrament meeting we will visit the Sacred Grove and reflect on the special events that took place here. We will also see the restored Joseph Smith Sr. home and farm including the restored log cabin where Moroni first appeared to Joseph Smith. Next, we'll stop at the E. B. Grandin Building where the Book of Mormon was printed, then see the grave site of Alvin Smith, eldest brother of Joseph Smith.  We'll visit the Hill Cumorah and Visitors Center and then travel to Fayette, NY to the Peter Whitmer Farm where the church was organized on April 6, 1830. Accommodations: The Palmyra Inn.

Day 3: Mon. June 4, 2018

Harmony, PA

Today we will visit the new Priesthood Restoration site in Susquehanna County, PA. We’ll see the new visitor’s center and meetinghouse, the reconstructed homes of Joseph and Emma Smith and Isaac and Elizabeth Hale, the woods where John the Baptist restored the priesthood, the baptismal site at the Susquehanna River, and the new statuary. Accommodations: Palmyra Inn.

Day 4: Tues. June 5, 2018

Palmyra/Niagara Falls/Kirtland

This morning we’ll drive to Mendon, NY to see the Tomlinson Inn where Samuel Smith gave a copy of the Book of Mormon to Phineas Young, Brigham Young’s older brother.  Then we continue our journey to Niagara Falls, the oldest state park in the USA. We will board the Maid of the Mist boat which passes directly in front of the falls and enters Horseshoe Basin. This is a fun activity you don’t want to miss! After free time for lunch and shopping we travel to Kirtland, OH. Accommodations: Holiday Inn.

Day 5: Wed. June 6, 2018

Kirtland

Today we’ll visit the Kirtland Temple.  Relative to the meager resources of the Saints at the time, the Kirtland Temple is probably the most costly temple ever constructed by the church. Next we’ll see the Temple Quarry and have a picnic lunch.  We will spend the rest of the afternoon visiting the Morley Farm and the Historic Kirtland village including: the LDS Visitors Center, the Whitney Home and Store, the Johnson Inn, the Ashery, and Sawmill. Accommodations: Holiday Inn.

Day 6: Thurs. June 7, 2018

Hiram/Kansas City/Independence

Early this morning we will depart for Hiram, OH to visit the John Johnson Farm. It was at the Johnson farm that Joseph Smith received the vision of the three degrees of glory. We'll end this side of our tour as we travel via Airplane to Kansas City. Upon arrival, we board our awaiting motor-coach and drive to the temple site in Jackson County and visit the Independence LDS visitor’s center. Accommodations: Fairfield Inn

Day 7: Fri. June 8, 2018

Liberty/Far West/Adam-Ondi-Ahman/Nauvoo

We begin our day with a drive to Liberty to visit the jail where the Prophet Joseph spent several months while the Saints suffered severe persecution in Missouri.  We will continue on to Far West to see the site of the temple and discuss the historic events that occurred here before the Saints were forced to leave Missouri.  Our next stop is Adam-Ondi-Ahman and then we'll continue on our scenic drive to Nauvoo. Accommodations: Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites

Day 8: Sat. June 9, 2018

 Nauvoo

Our day begins with a temple session at the Nauvoo Temple. (Attendance at the Temple is optional). Our next stop will include Joseph Smiths homestead, the grave sites of Joseph, Emma, and Hyrum, the Mansion House, and the Red Brick Store. Following lunch will be free time to browse through the many restored homes and buildings that take you back to old Nauvoo when the saints were colonizing and expanding! You won’t want to miss the homes of Brigham Young, John Taylor, Heber C. Kimball, Lucy Mack Smith, and the Jonathan Browning Gun Shop. After dinner we will visit the Nauvoo visitor’s center and then enjoy the musical production "Rendezvous" at the Cultural Hall before returning to the hotel for the evening. Accommodations: The Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites.

Day 9: Sun. June 10, 2018

Nauvoo/Carthage

After Sacrament meeting we will visit the Pioneer Cemetery and then travel the old road to Carthage, where we will view a production of the Life of the Prophet Joseph Smith shown at the Visitors Center. Next, we'll tour the jail itself where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were martyred. Following dinner we’ll walk the Trail of Hope and read excerpts from personal diaries of the Saints. Your understanding will increase as you read about the hardships and struggles they went through. Accommodations: The Nauvoo Family Inn and Suites.

Day 10: Mon. June 11, 2018

Nauvoo/Hannibal/St. Louis

This morning we say farewell to Nauvoo. We continue to Mark Twain’s Hannibal on the Mississippi River where we’ll take a luncheon cruise on a riverboat. Following lunch, we'll depart for St. Louis, MO for our late afternoon flight home.
