It is not allowed to disembark in the islands, but the boats arrive until the banks of the islands, from where you will be able to appreciate this marvel of the nature and the marine wild life. The sea lions will probably come closer until the boat or you will see many penguins in the water. Thousands of marine birds will fly between the islands or you will be able to see their nests on the rocks of the islands.

After breakfast we will depart on a full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We then have a buffet lunch at the picturesque restaurant “El Alambra” in Urubamba. After lunch we travel to the northwestern end of the Sacred Valley to the Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo which tradition has it that it was the “royal estate” of the Inca Pachacuteq, which probably accounts for the fine stonework seen everywhere. The train (which departs from Cusco) will pick us up here at Ollantaytambo.  We'll enjoy a 2 hour unforgettable train ride aboard the Vista Dome to Machu Picchu.  The scenery changes from dry mountain valleys to a lush cloud forest environment, as you descend to Machu Picchu which is at about 7,000 feet above sea level, several thousand feet lower than Cusco.  In the evening we'll arrive at Aguas Calientes, the small town near Machu Picchu.  We'll check into our hotel and enjoy a free evening in this charming town which exists to host the tourists visiting Machu Picchu.  We’ll stay at a comfortable three star hotel There will be free time tonight to enjoy dinner on your own.  There are dozens of tourist restaurants with English menus.  There are handicrafts shops in the area.  (B, L)

Our local guide will spend a couple of hours with us taking us through the ruins followed by time to enjoy it on your own.
